FAQ
01. What happens if it rains or snows?
We play! Children learn that there’s no such thing as bad weather—only the need for good gear. We adjust activities for safety and comfort, finding beauty and learning opportunities in every kind of weather.

02. What should my child wear or bring each day?

Layers are best. Please send your child in weather-appropriate clothing they can get messy in, sturdy boots or shoes, and a full change of clothes. We also recommend a labeled water bottle and healthy snack or lunch, depending on the program length.

03. How do you handle safety outdoors??

Safety is our top priority. Our guides are trained in first aid, CPR, and outdoor risk management. We teach children to assess their environment, take age-appropriate risks, and care for themselves and others in the forest.

04. What if my child doesn’t know anyone?

That’s perfectly okay! Our small groups and nurturing guides help children feel welcomed and supported. Friendships naturally grow as children explore and play together week after week.
05. Do children have to participate in every activity?
No. We honor child-led play and believe in giving children the freedom to engage at their own pace. Some may watch first, others jump right in—both are part of healthy learning and development.
06. Is there a bathroom?
Yes. Each forest site has a primitive toilet that’s private, clean, and stocked with handwashing supplies. Guides help children learn forest hygiene routines with comfort and respect.

07. What does a typical day look like?

Each day includes a rhythm of free play, exploration, story or song time, and reflection. Children climb, build, create, and connect—gaining confidence and a deep sense of belonging in nature.
08. How do you handle separation for younger children?
We meet each child where they are. Some separate easily, others take time. Our guides gently support transitions, helping children and parents feel confident and at ease.

09. Do you cancel for weather?

We rarely cancel! Severe storms, high winds, or unsafe road conditions may pause our day, but light rain, snow, or mud are part of the adventure. Families are notified promptly if we must reschedule.
