Where Confidence, Responsibility, and Leadership Take Root

Youth Leadership

Designed as the next step beyond Learning Lab, Youth Leadership supports older children as they grow into confident, capable community members through hands-on experiences in nature. Participants take part in collaborative projects, team-building challenges, outdoor skill development, and community stewardship — learning to lead with empathy, responsibility, and initiative.

Youth leaders have opportunities to mentor younger groups, support Forest Guides during community events, and contribute meaningfully to the culture and care of the River's Edge environment. Through these experiences, children build problem-solving skills, resilience, and a deeper sense of connection to both people and place.

Rather than framing leadership as authority, this program invites children to collaborate, care for others, and contribute with confidence. With small group sizes and experienced guides, participants enjoy movement-rich, screen-free experiences rooted in nature and community.
