Dear Friends and Families,

Rivers Edge Forest Play is a nature-based program dedicated to supporting children and families through exploration, connection, and play in the forest. Founded by a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), our work is grounded in a deep understanding of child development, emotional well-being, and the healing power of time spent outdoors.

We offer seasonal forest play sessions, homeschool enrichment programs, and therapeutic group experiences. Program costs vary by offer but generally begin at $95 per session, with multi-week and specialty programs priced accordingly. We are committed to keeping our programs accessible while maintaining high-quality staffing, materials, and a safe, nurturing environment.

At Rivers Edge Forest Play, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to grow, explore, and thrive in nature. In a world where children are increasingly pulled indoors and overstimulated, the forest offers something rare and essential: the freedom to move, imagine, and simply be. Our enrichment programs invite children to build confidence, curiosity, and resilience through outdoor play and adventure-based learning.

Nature is a powerful teacher. When children climb logs, follow animal tracks, build shelters, and wade through creeks, they strengthen their bodies, develop problem-solving skills, and cultivate emotional regulation. Research on nature-based play demonstrates improvements in children’s mental health, cognitive and social development, and academic performance, contributing to emotional and psychological resilience. Children experience belonging, calm, cooperation, creativity, and stewardship as they explore, take healthy risks, and discover their capabilities.

Each season, we watch these transformations unfold: timid children grow bold, energetic children practice grounding, and curious minds flourish in the freedom the woods provide. Yet we also know that not every family has the financial means to participate. This is why we are reaching out for support in growing the Rivers Edge Scholarship Fund.

Our Scholarship Fund ensures that all children—regardless of financial circumstances—can experience the benefits of nature-based play and connection. Since its inception, the fund has supported families who may not otherwise be able to participate, providing reduced or fully covered tuition during times of financial hardship. Every contribution directly removes barriers for children who need these experiences most, allowing them to learn, grow, and thrive in a supportive outdoor community.

Your tax-deductible donation will go directly toward scholarships that allow children from all backgrounds to join our programs and ensure that nature remains accessible to all.
